NC MICROSCHOOL LEADER SUMMER COHORT 

Program Overview

The Summer Cohort for NC Microschool Founders and Leaders is an intensive, comprehensive program designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to launch or expand their microschools successfully. This program spans 12 weeks, combining virtual workshops, interactive sessions, personalized coaching, and collaborative projects. Must be a NC resident or looking to open a microschool in NC within the next two years.

 

   Curriculum Outline

Week 1-2: Introduction and Vision Setting

  • Session 1: Welcome and Program Overview

    • Introduction to the cohort structure, objectives, and expectations.

  • Session 2: Vision and Mission Development

    • Defining the unique vision and mission of your microschool.

  • Session 3: Understanding the Microschool Model

    • Overview of different microschool models and their benefits.

Week 3-4: Legal and Financial Foundations

  • Session 4: Legal Requirements and Compliance

    • Navigating state regulations and legal considerations for starting a microschool.

  • Session 5: Financial Planning and Budgeting

    • Creating a sustainable financial model and budget for your microschool.

Week 5-6: Curriculum Development

  • Session 6: Designing a Learner-Centered Curriculum

    • Principles of personalized learning and curriculum design.

  • Session 7: Assessment and Evaluation Strategies

    • Effective assessment methods to track student progress.

Week 7-8: Operations and Management

  • Session 8: School Operations and Administration

    • Day-to-day management and operational strategies.

Week 9-10: Marketing and Community Engagement
