Head of Schools Welcome

Welcome to Burbrella Microschool where tomorrow's leaders (K-5 Graders) are nurtured in a holistic and student-led learning environment! As the Head of Schools, I am delighted to introduce you to our new microschool, a place where every child's unique potential is recognized, cherished, and nurtured.

At Burbrella Microschool, we are committed to providing a comprehensive educational experience that prepares our students for a rapidly changing world. Our approach centers around student-led and personalized learning, ensuring that each child's individual strengths, interests, and learning styles are embraced and celebrated.

Our curriculum is designed to seamlessly integrate Nature, STEM, Art, Project-Based Learning, and Play-Based Learning, creating a rich and dynamic tapestry of educational experiences. Through nature-based learning, students develop a deep connection with the natural world, fostering a sense of environmental stewardship and inspiring a love for our planet. STEM education equips our students with critical thinking, problem-solving, and technological skills, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of the future. Art is seamlessly woven into our curriculum, encouraging self-expression, fostering creativity, and nurturing the aesthetic sensibilities of our young learners. Our project-based learning approach empowers students to take ownership of their education as they engage in real-world, hands-on projects that challenge their intellect and ignite their passion for learning. Additionally, play-based learning allows children to explore, experiment, and collaborate in a joyful and stimulating environment, unlocking their imagination and nurturing their social-emotional development.

We believe in the power of differentiation to meet the unique needs of each learner. Our dedicated and passionate educators create tailored learning experiences that cater to individual strengths, interests, and learning paces. We welcome and embrace all types of learners, fostering an inclusive and supportive community where every child feels valued and celebrated.

At Burbrella Microschool, we understand that education goes beyond academic achievement. We strive to nurture the whole child, supporting their social, emotional, and character development. Our school is a safe and nurturing space where students feel empowered to take risks, express themselves authentically, and develop the skills and values necessary to become compassionate and empathetic leaders.

I invite you to explore our microschool, witness the magic of our student-led learning, and experience the joy and excitement that permeates our classroom. Together, let us embark on a journey of discovery, growth, and limitless possibilities as we prepare our students to become the leaders of tomorrow.

How do we Approach Learning?

IMG_2861.jpg

Play Based

Play encourages children to think outside the box, explore new ideas, and express their unique perspectives. It ignites their imaginations, allowing them to approach challenges with innovative solutions and endless creativity.

IMG_2736.jpg

STEM

STEM education cultivates critical thinking skills, empowering students to analyze complex problems, evaluate evidence, and formulate logical solutions. By engaging in scientific experiments, technological investigations, and engineering challenges, children develop their ability to think critically and make informed decisions.

IMG_2482.jpg

Nature

We create opportunities for children to engage their senses and explore nature through sensory experiences. They touch, smell, listen to, and observe the natural elements, deepening their understanding of the world around them. Sensory activities in nature stimulate their cognitive development, foster a sense of wonder, and ignite their curiosity.

IMG_2457.jpg

In the STEAM realm, creativity knows no bounds. By integrating the arts into STEM subjects, children are inspired to think outside the box, embrace unconventional solutions, and express their ideas through various mediums. This fusion of creativity and innovation fuels their ability to dream, design, and innovate.

Movement

Engaging in physical movement increases blood flow to the brain, improving concentration, attention, and memory retention. Movement breaks during learning activities rejuvenate children's minds and enhance their ability to absorb and process information effectively.

Social Emotional

SEL nurtures empathy, allowing children to understand and share the feelings of others. Through activities that promote perspective-taking and empathy-building, children develop a compassionate mindset. They learn to embrace diversity, show kindness, and become agents of positive change in their communities. Empathy fosters a sense of belonging, connection, and social responsibility.

"Who volunteers to read at 9am without being told?

Jasmine!

Her willingness and energy to learn now is awesome!

I’m not a paid parent nor I wasn’t asked to do a review. I’m just a parent who knows that ever since she have joined the family online, everything have changed for the better. I am always going to give a shout out to who deserves it.

She is going to beat Learning Disabilities in reading, math, and writing! She got this because she has an awesome team (home and school) finally! It makes a huge difference when there is collaboration. I want to thank Burbrella Learning Academy Inc for making sure her learning is a priority!

If you are looking for an online program for your child, please check them out!"

My daughter started at Burbrella fall of 2022. Every morning she's excited to go to class with Mrs. Pollard or Ms. Wells. WE made sure to help her be able to read the clock and set her own alarms for class because she never wanted to miss a thing. We struggled figuring out our school path after having horrible experiences with traditional school. Being a part of Burbrella has helped her to enjoy learning but also build relationships with children all over the country.

Where do I begin? Ms Wells has been amazing with my son she has been very patient and has learned and adapted to his specific needs and that's great. It's helped him grow as a student and so much to the point that he loved and anticipated class times and to share all the good news with Ms Wells. Her lessons were so much fun and her patience led my son to want to continue learning and he wanted to do it to make her proud and to tell her all the things that he recognized throughout his day-to-day life. She's amazing and if there is a such thing as a raise she needs a few raises because she's awesome.
